I have been wishing for a flower box to use on my kitchen island, and this afternoon my wish came true. I usually shop around for bargains, but there was just one of these in a cute little shop (that happened to be right across the street from the errand I had to run...) I am looking forward to filling it for the different seasons and holidays....so it was really a very practical purchase. Yup.
Next stop... Hobby Lobby for fall things to fill it.
The plastic gourds were all in one package. The long twisted berry pieces were wired. I cut them into shorter sections, but I won't say it was easy.
I put an empty shoe box in for filler.
Then I cut a piece of foam to fit the box and lay on top of the shoe box.
I poked holes with a scissors where I wanted to place the stems and added them. I just placed the other items into the arrangement. I found that I needed more "stuff," so I added some natural looking spheres that I had around the house. I think they not only filled it in, but also gave it interest and texture.
I kept filling the empty spots (like the one in the center in this photo) until I couldn't see any more.
