I bought this burlap featuring Christmas words at Hobby Lobby a few months ago. While I don't start decorating for Christmas until after Thanksgiving, today seemed like a good time to cut, iron, and unravel the edges.
I cut the pieces 20 inches by 15 inches so that the words would show behind the chargers.
I pulled a string to guide my cut.
After ironing each placemat on a linen setting, I pulled the strings about one half inch all the way around the placemat. I may run the sewing machine around the edges to prevent further unraveling. I probably won't though, since these will only be used once in a while.
Blessings,
Eilis
