Craving White Dishes

The bad news is that the roads here are icy today.

The good news is that my school is closed and I got a "me" day.
I took advantage of the time at home to try out some recent purchases
on the shelves in our breakfast area.

These shelves have challenged me ever since we moved into this house.  I have finally decided to try to give them the French country look with lots of white dishes.

The soup tureen was an auction find.  I bid online, but picked it up locally.

The rooster and silver plated sauce dish came home from Canton with me a couple of weeks ago.

I am really liking the white.  I would be out hunting for more if the roads weren't icy.

Oh yea...
I would be teaching kindergartners if the roads weren't icy...

Stay warm and safe.

  1. Love the white, Eilis! I did this in my kitchen last year; and I just changed out the ones in my dining room hutch. I love how bright and fresh everything looks. You did a great job! Stay warm!

  3. It's nice to have an unexpected day off from work. . .even if it means you must stay inside, away from icy roads. The white pieces look beautiful against the wood of the cabinet. I like the contrast. I just took your home tour. You have a lovely home, and I adore your kitchen. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving the nice words behind. Stay warm and safe. ~ Nancy
