However, it did need a little TLC. It was missing a piece of trim in the front, under the rush seat.
Since I have zero carpentry skills...
I "repaired" the chair with a two dollar strip of self-adhesive vinyl flooring, an exacto knife, and a glue gun. The fact that the vinyl flooring was flexible made attaching it to the curved frame very easy. However, the adhesive on the back didn't hold the strip securely until I added a few dabs of hot glue. (Update: That glue did not hold. Today I applied Gorilla Glue. So far, so good).
I really got lucky on how well the "wood" color of the flooring strip matched the real wood on the chair.
Here is the chair all settled into it's new home.
I hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Wow Us Wednesday
You lucky girl!! Please tell me where this thrift store is. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Stacey, It's located at Ross and Peak in Dallas. It is truly a hole in the wall. I did not see anything else that interested me, but I suspect that it is one of those places that you have to stop by a lot and get lucky sometimes... I don't think it has a real name, but it does have a Facebook page called Ross at Peak Thriftstore.
