Planning a Summer Party

I was recently asked by Paperless to share my ideas for a summer party.  As it happens, I am planning a backyard birthday party for someone very dear to me this month.  Jello shots are a favorite of the honoree.  Our backyard will lend itself easily to a tiki party theme.

Here's what I have in mind....

The patio umbrella will offer a little shade and atmosphere for the "tiki bar."  I found the tiki bar sign for two dollars at Party City. The LED luminaries are about six dollars for six...no candles to hastle with. They are also exactly the colors I am using for all the party paper goods.  Of course, the tiki torches are a must.

I plan to make the ham and pineapple kabobs ahead of time and keep them warm on the grill.  I love the idea of making the fruit kabos a centerpiece by piercing them into half of a watermelon.  Isn't Pinterest the greatest?

I found a couple of fun tiki themed invitations on Paperlesspost.com.  I can personalize them either online or on paper.

Have I forgotten anything?  I'd love to hear your Tiki Party Tips!
