I didn't reveal my first recovering effort until now. I had found the yellow toile online, but was disappointed with it when it arrived. Mainly, the fabric was too light weight. The design was also very subtle. This little bench deserved better.
Yesterday, I finally went to Childress Fabrics in Addison. They have a great selection of upholstery fabrics on rolls. They only had one heavy weight toile. It was green. That made my decision easy. It was priced at twenty-one dollars per yard. While I didn't need a whole yard for coverage, I did purchase it so I would be able to choose which part of the design ended up in the center of the seat.
Actually, choosing the part to feature was the hardest part of the project. Stapling the heavy fabric to the removable seat was easy.
My mom always used to say, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again." I'm glad I did.
