I took down some of the draperies in our guest room and rearranged the furniture to give access to the hidden French doors.
Previously, I had purchased this daybed for the small room. I thought it would only fit on the French door wall. There is a door on all four walls in this room!
To my delight, when I tried the daybed in a corner, it fit without blocking any of the doors.
So, I took down the center pink drapery panel. (The draperies came with the house when we purchased it.) While I would love to remove the rest of the draperies, they do help with the hot Texas afternoon sun.
I would have to replace them with something else as heavy and lined.
Here's a peek at the view through the French doors.
I am thrilled with the results of my "no spend" project for today. I'm going to sit in here and enjoy a glass of iced tea now.

How pretty! That must be a big room with the bed fitting so well in the corner. Those shutters are to die for and I love the wall treatment. Is that wallpaper?
ReplyDeleteThanks Stacey. It's paint. It was done by the previous homeowner. I'm not sure whether the design was stamped or stenciled.
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely, and it seems to have really opened up the room. It is fun to sometimes come up w ith unusual solutions to a decorating dilemma.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary. You are very right about it opening up the room.
ReplyDeleteIt looks really great!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Kathy!

ReplyDeleteThank you Kathryn! You know how to make my day.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is much better---it would be a shame to block the lovely French doors. It was a great idea to move the daybed into the corner!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nanny Kim! I am really enjoying the change.
