I haven't posted lately. Here's why.
It's reception season at our house. We host four large dinners for my husband's business in May each year. Last night was the third one. Tonight is the fourth one.
It's relatively easy for me because caterers set up the tables, bring the food, AND CLEAN IT ALL UP. We end up with a refrigerator full of yummy left overs. (Not sure where tonight's will go, since we won't have had a chance to eat last night's yet....)
If it were up to me, I would add centerpieces.... but someone else handles all these arrangements. I handle making sure there is lots of soap and toilet paper in the bathrooms. I keep the trays of disposable guest towels full. I notice things like whether the party rental people deliver ten appetizer/dessert plates instead of 140 and then call to get 130 more A.S.A.P. I also keep the house tidy. No paint messes going on around here these days.
Luckily, since some of the guests come to more than one of these dinners, the caterers bring different selections each time. Last night was Mexican. Tonight will be Bar-B-Que.
So far this year, the Texas weather has cooperated. Our luck may run out tonight. The weather man tells me to expect thunder storms. I am in serious denial. Fitting all these tables inside the house will not be pretty. Please clouds, you can rain all day tomorrow. Just work with me from five until nine tonight.
Update: My positive thoughts may be working!
