Yesterday, I put together some hostess gifts for Jemma and the other wonderful bloggers who are planning the crafts and helping her with the day.
This project has been on my to do list ever since I picked up these Meakin Ironstone cups and saucers at an Estate Sale.
I left the succulents in their tiny pots, placed them in the cups, and filled in the space with a little Spanish moss. More for practical reasons than aesthetics, I placed each cup in a clear party favor bag. (I had a hard enough time getting these little guys to the check out aisle at Walmart without spilling them since the soil was really dry. They got a drink of water as soon as I got them home.)
The saucers fit exactly in the bags. Nice when that happens.
I kept one for my own house. It is sitting on the top of the drying rack in the sun room.
O.K., I actually kept two. The other one looks adorable sitting on top of a few books in the family room.
This is totally unrelated, but, just had to share a photo I took at NorthPark Mall in Dallas this week. Is this copper kitchen in the window of Williams-Sonoma not amazing?

I love your little succulent cups.
ReplyDeleteI recently bought 12 matching teacups at a thrift shop to hold cute little fresh flower bouquets. I only used 5 of them so now I know what I'll be doing with the other 7.
Thanks for sharing with SYC.
