Summer Kitchen

These daisies jumped into my shopping cart at the grocery store yesterday.
They bring me back to happy hours picking tiny daisies on my great aunt's lawn and making beautiful necklaces.

As a kid, I thought it was a shame  that our lawn didn't have daisies.  I had no idea that my parents were doing everything they could to prevent daisies from popping up.

I guess they just didn't know how fun it was to make daisy chains.

When life gives you daisies, you should make necklaces.

Or if life gives you mail cubbies over a desk in the kitchen, you should fill them with spools of ribbon and tags.  A cute little wood "Happy Place" sign can be a hiding place for the dog's medicine.

All of a sudden, you're kind of glad that someone put mail slots above the desk in the kitchen.

  1. I'd definitely be glad. Your kitchen is so beautiful!

I've never made daisy chains. Let's do that!

    1. Thanks Stacey. I don't think I have the eye sight to make tiny holes and thread daisy stems these days!

  2. What a cute post! Daisies are just such a happy flower! Love all of your touches in the kitchen!

  3. Whoa what a gorgeous kitchen!! That brick is beautiful.
I love daisies, too. Especially the ones that are skilled at jumping :)

  4. Eilis, I think daisies are happy flowers. I love your kitchen and how lucky you are to have a desk! Thank you for sharing at Your Inspired Design Link Party.

  5. Your kitchen is a dream kitchen, filled with glorious space, dreamy fixtures and a wonderful view!
Love your outlook on life too:)
I have never made a daisy chain-I just remember saying "He loves me, he loves me not...!)

  6. They "jumped in the cart did they"? LOL! That was cute! I think that's the answer I'm going to be using in the near future. Thanks for the tip, Eilis;)

  7. Very pretty! The daisies just add that little pop of summer to any room, don't they? Thank you so much for sharing at Your Inspired Design.

  8. Eilis,
I adore your decor within the mail slots, dear one!
My Shasta Daises, planted in loving memory of my Grandmother, are full in the bud!
Each year, I anxiously await their arrival with memories of sitting on Grandmother's cement well top!
Your Willow Tree Angels make a great complement to your shelving in the Kitchen!
