Decorative Scale on the Mantel

It feels like Christmas in July. I got a fun package in the mail today!

I have been admiring these decorative scales, but not willing to fork out a hundred bucks for one.

Happily, I get emails from Antique Farmhouse promoting their current sales.  I found this decorative scale  in the "Herbalist" sale for $40 (plus shipping).  Fun fact:  It's actually a fixed piece.  You could put a feather on one side and a rock on the other, they would still "balance."

When I opened the box, I was so excited that I grabbed some begonias from the patio to do this quick styling.  The joke was on me when I realized that I had brought a big toad into the house along with the begonias...

It will be so fun and easy to change this vignette out frequently.  However, I will check flower pots for jumping friends before bringing them inside from now on.

Have a wonderful Independence Day weekend!

Heartfully,

Eilis

PS I bet Mr. Toad was looking to be your design assistant.;-)

  3. Everything on the mantel looks great! The scales look so nice with the begonias. I saw some scales recently with succulents that looked nice, too. Thanks for sharing. Blessings, Janet
