Presenting an x-ray of my foot after triple arthrodesis surgery two days ago. In addition to three joint fusions, the surgeon had to lengthen my achilles tendon (eek!). He assures me that I will not set off metal detectors, but I'm not so sure....
Here's my view for the next two weeks, until I go back to the doctor for casting. (Actually, I took this photo in the hospital. I am home now.) I have to keep my foot above my heart to keep the swelling down. You would not believe how huge this wrapping around my ankle is!
Thank goodness the pain killers have been working so far.
The bad news is that I have to be "non-weight bearing" for about two months.
The good news is that I have all the time in the world to read blogs. I would love to catch up on posts that I missed in the past.
So, I was thinking...
What if I had a link up where everyone shares the best post they ever wrote for their blog? It can be an "oldie but goodie" or something recent. It will be like you all visit me virtually, except you won't see me lying in bed...
I thought about calling it "Pity Party", but decided "My Heart's Favorite Blog Posts" was probably a better idea.
I'd love to see room transformations, affordable "hacks," gardens, recipes. Anything uplifting is welcome!
I will be Pinning your wonderful posts to a new board "Favorite Blog Posts."
This link up will be open for one week. Next weekend I will share some features.
And be sure to vote (for my project) in The Sweet Tea Challenge! I have lots of time on my hands to sew a quilt top, too.

Ouch. No fun. Prayers for quick healing.
ReplyDeleteGuess I need to find an oldie but goodie! I'll be back!
Hugs
Cecilia
I'm sharing my bathroom makeover. It's still my favorite! :o)
DeleteFeel better soon!
Wow! Thank you Cecilia. What a transformation! I love the tile in the shower and on the floor. You're hard work paid off.
DeleteOh gosh! That's no fun! Let me see what I can dig up for you!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shenita! I love the pumpkin with the cross and bow. You have me in the mood for fall now :)
DeletePity Party it could be and here I'm feeling sorry for myself because I threw out my back. I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. My favorite post is a Christmas post but I'll link it anyway. Prayers for quick recovery for you.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Katie! I'm sorry to hear of your back. We'll pray for each other's quick healing and patience. I love your Christmas post. I just saw the San Jose bell in Santa Fe that had been made when early settlers donated all their metal and jewelry to make it.
DeleteOh my that is "screwed up". :) I have attempted to link an old post that still repeatedly gets pinned on Pinterest several times a day. Your linky said "Error, does not have a backlink" but the post is so old the thought of trying to sift through windows live writer to add your link exhausts me. :) Get well soon!
ReplyDeleteHi Laura,
DeleteI had not thought of that. I'll remove the link back. Please try again :)
Laura,
DeleteI found it in "pending." Thank you so much. What a wonderful way to customize IKEA furniture.
Bless your sweet heart...I am sorry for your down time..thankful for your heavy duty drugs..and admire your spirit so much.
ReplyDeleteI will go look and see which post I would like to share here...be back soon. xoxo
..just added my link...take care and hurry and get healed. xo
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words and linking up your delicious post, BJ!
DeleteI thought of another fav. post from my old blog...xo
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, I am so sorry. Pity parties are fine. Downtime can be a blessing, but not after having surgery and non weight bearing. Hopefully you can make the most of it. Working on your blog redesign..hopefully that will cheer you up.
ReplyDeleteIt will! I have wanted to do it for a while, but figured this would be a good time :)
DeleteOh my goodness I feel for you. It will be a challenge to rest for two weeks and then no load bearing but I'm sure the outcome will be great. I'll have to join your party. Please take care!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Liz! I am feeling so much better each day and your tablescape is delightful.
DeleteHello My friend!
ReplyDeleteWell, I dug back about a year ago and thought you might enjoy a fashion post!
Sending big hugs and prayers too for a quick recovery and being pampered like a Queen!
jemma
Jemma,
DeleteThank you for giving me some fall fashion to look forward to when I can get pants over my ankle :) I am getting used to having people at my beck and call like a pampered princess. It will be an adjustment when I return to real life!
You poor thing! I would be having a HUGE pity party and inviting friends and neighbors too! lol
ReplyDeleteChristine,
DeleteTrust me - virtual visitors are best at the moment!
I'm here late but I'm joining the party! I don't know if it's the best post but it's one of the best houses. Ellis I hope you're taking care of yourself and that you'll be up and at 'em before you know it!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Lisa. It is an absolutely amazing house! I can see it has influenced some of your beautiful choices for your new house.
DeleteEilis, this looks very painful. All the best for a fast recovery. I will go pick a post and link to your party. Fun idea!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't decide a favorite post so I just chose one that came to mind.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea!
Thanks so much, Carol. I wandered over to your home tour as well. Loved reading how your cottage came to be the sweet home it is now. I grew up in California and sometimes my family rented a beach cottage in San Diego for vacation. Fun memories!

DeleteYou poor thing! I will be remembering you! Yes, You can read blogs all day and not feel guilty you should be doing something. However, It is never ending. So many talented bloggers. It is addicting for sure.
ReplyDeleteSomething is wrong with my blog . I've tried to repost and it doesn't give me a choice to publish or I would link up. I have a long list of things I need help with.
Take care.
