Blue and White Ginger Jars

I've been drooling over blue and white ginger jars lately.

I've also been looking for "something" to put on top of the French wedding armoire in our master bedroom.

This piece is really big.  Things tend to disappear on top of the 48 inch width.

Problem solved.

I finally had one of those amazing days, when you find an affordable, twenty inch tall, blue and white ginger jar at HomeGoods.  It's on the right.

Then, I had another one of those pinch yourself days, when I bought the 22 inch one on the left at an estate sale for a similar very low price.
The plate is an antique that's been in our family for generations.
I think it may be upside down.  My son was kind enough to put these up for me while I'm scooter bound.  I'm getting very good at accepting the things I cannot change these days.
It's a start.  Hopefully, a few more lucky finds will make their way up there soon.  I feel a collection coming on.
Do you think the two large jars are enough of an anchor, and I can just add smaller ones around them now?

I love the blue and white ginger jars that you found and how special to have that blue and white plate that has been in your family for generations. I love things like that. The top of the armoire is a perfect place for a blue and white collection. I can just picture that collection expanding.

  5. Hi Eilis, love the gorgeous, stately armoire. The intricate carving and detail is stunning.

Of course, you can never go wrong with ginger jars. I used to have a few of them many years ago. Somehow they got lost during one of my house moves.
