It's Time

The pots in the front of our house were ready for a refresh. I was  delighted to buy these pansies this week.  They were really hanging baskets, I just removed the hanging pieces.  I like short cuts. My husband is an LSU fan, so he's always happy to see some purple and gold around the house for football season.

And now that I am walking in shoes (well, walking slowly in wide athletic shoes),
I am ready for another refresh.

I am finally going to paint the pool bathroom.
It's been on the list since we moved in.
It's kind of the out of sight, out of mind thing.  I never used this bathroom much before my surgery. While getting around on one foot it was so convenient with the sink close to the toilet and lots of room for a walker or knee scooter.  But, every time I went in it, I wished I had painted it by now....

Here are the "before" photos.

It is a room tucked under the staircase.
I'm not sure why the low ceiling was ever painted such a dark color, especially with so little natural light.
The tile on the floor and in the shower will be so much better with a light wall color.

I hope that sharing these before pictures here will be the motivation I need to go to the paint store and get this project going.

It's also time for me to start getting into shape (after three months of very little physical activity).
This girl is absolutely NOT buying any chocolate Halloween candy and pretending it is for trick-or-treaters.  On November 1st, I will weigh less than I do today.

I'll keep you posted .

There is still time to join this week's Monday Social.

  1. Don't you love smaller projects that don't take too terribly long to do? It's great that everything is neutral. It gives you so many options. Excited to see what you do!

  3. Your pansies are so pretty. Your bathroom will be fun to work on. What color are you thinking or are you staying neutral? Glad you're in walking shoes. I'm with you on the candy. Trying to stay away from it too. Have fun with your painting. xo

  4. I love pansies! Definitely paint your bathroom lighter. It will brighten up the space and break up all the browns going on! Good luck!

  8. I bet your bathroom will look great once you're done. I know how frustrating it can be to have something that needs to get done and yet it never seems to. In my case, that would be painting our garage interior. Ugh! I can't tell you how many years that has been on "the list"!

  9. It was great to see you the other day. I'm so glad you are out and about. I can't wait to see the reveal of your pool bath. I did buy chocolate but I'm not eating any either.

  10. Hey there lady! It's been some time, I know. Love the bathroom...it's got "great bones" to begin with! I actually think your gonna love that textured wall once you get it painted a lighter color. I did that in our dining room, and love it! Hope all is well:)
