500 Santas at the Dallas Arboretum

The Dallas Arboretum is featuring an amazing display of Santas in the DeGoyler House this month. The jolly fellows are on loan from members of the the Junior League.  Here are a few of them...

I just love the Russian carved ones.

This embroidered one was about three feet tall!  I wonder if one person did every stitch on him.

There were Santas on the Christmas trees.

I thought this one looked like a Santa from the Harry Potter books.

This poor Santa has sore feet.

Isn't this Saint Nicholas beautiful?

This tired Santa is soaking his feet.

Isn't it amazing how many different looks the big guy carries off?

Look at the photo below to see just how loaded down this guy is!

Of course Santa would have a red and white striped nightshirt.

There were many of these hand embroidered Santas.

This one's coat was made from fur and the back was all covered in beautiful feathers.

A grouping of carved Santas is always appealing.

Which is your favorite?
Merry Christmas!

  4. I used to decorate with Santa's at Christmas before I changed my style. They are classic and fun to collect. You shared such a great variety! I always loved the old fashioned Santa's.

  5. Amazing Santa's. The Arboretum has top notch exhibits. I saw the Nativities last year. Thanks for sharing. I know it was special in person.

  6. What fun! I wanted to make a trip up to Dallas but ran out of time. Would love to see this, so thanks for sharing all these great photos. Couldn't pick a favorite, but the large needlepoint Santa is amazing! Lots of hours on this piece. Merry Christmas!
    FYI ~ I can't find a linky button for today's party.
