Transitioning a Bedroom

My daughter is in her final semester of living away for college.  This fall, she will be living at home while student teaching.

She has mentioned to me that she no longer loves the bright green paint that she chose for her bedroom years ago.  (Imagine that!)

We both agreed that it was time for something calmer.  She admired the color I had painted our guest bedroom (Sherwin Williams Neutral Ground) and said she would love a white matelasse coverlet with some pale blue accessories.

So, she is in for a little surprise when she comes home for spring break. The walls are freshly painted and her bedroom has had a mini makeover.

I painted this canvas of birds on branches after seeing something similar in a model home.  I'm no artist, but I've been to some of those wine and paint classes...

The blue linen bed skirt was purchased at Custom Linens Handmade.  This is the same Etsy shop that I purchased my linen daybed cover from.  Both pieces have been sewn absolutely beautifully.

The room is light on furniture at the moment, but her white night stand and dresser will be back when she moves home this summer. The "snooze" pillow is left over from her previous style.  I'm planning to sew a blue cover for it soon.

It is definitely calmer and I'm hoping she will love it.
