As a matter of fact,
I am a hoarder.
A few weeks ago, I carried a Balsam Hill catalog in from the mailbox.
I admired the autumn wreath on the cover.
It reminded me of something-
Oh yeah, the wreath I used to hang on the front door at our last house.
(We have double doors at this house, so one wreath didn't work.)
The almost forgotten wreath hidden in the guest bedroom closet begged for another chance to share its fall colors.
Would it look good over the mantle?
I tried it. I liked it.
I'm a sucker for birds, pumpkins, and pillows.
When I saw all three in one,
I was a goner.
This funny little retro pumpkin was a recent find in Canton.
This stitched pumpkin pillow came from Steinmart and found just the right spot.
Let it fall, let it fall, let it fall.

Here is my new favorite outdoor decor.
This project checked an item off my bucket list.
I bought one of those kits to make a tower of flower pots and the pea gravel it required,
pulled out my collection of empty terracotta pots,
re-potted a few plants,
and followed the directions to assemble it (on a beautiful sunny fall afternoon.)
Here it is outside our back door.
Fall happiness.Thank you for stopping by.

I love all of your fall touches and can just imagine them in your beautiful home! You always fix up that little spot by the back door in such a cute and welcoming way.
ReplyDeleteThat gorgeous wreath is perfect over your fireplace! And how charming is your back patio. I have been wanting one of those tower kits too, how cute. Happy fall! xo, Andrea
ReplyDeleteEilis you have put together an absolutely enchanting fall tour. I adore your outdoor vignette and your Canton pumpkin brought a smile to my face!
ReplyDeleteIt pays to be a hoarder at just the right time, Eilis, and your wreath looks perfectly wonderful above your mantle. All your Fall touches add such a coziness to your home. Your tower kit turned out so cute, and looks so pretty with all your other plants and decor at your back door. Thanks for the tour and inspiration.

Hi, Eilis,
ReplyDeleteThe wreath over the mantel goes nicely with your wood and neutral colors in the room AND gives just the right touch for Fall. Your outdoor space is always pretty for every season. The toothy pumpkin grin adds a welcoming, whimsy look.
Happy Fall,
Judith
Eilis, I never use the word hoarder. I'm a retired teacher, and out of necessity, I spent years "keeping" things because I knew I would need them for some project, dislay, etc. and I did use them! Often it was books of discontinued wall paper samples or scrap wood. Elementary teachers learn to be creative with supplies! 😊
ReplyDeleteI've been retired 20 years now. Guess what? I still hold on to things because I know I'll eventually want to use them. Aren't you happy you kept that wreath?
All your fall touches are perfect. Love the tower of flower pots. I've often wanted to try this idea. And your pillows.....well, I love birds, pumpkins, and pillows too. You found some beauties! Happy Fall!
I love all of your fall touches but I really love your descriptions:)

ReplyDeleteHi Eilis! I love your flower pot tower! I've seen those floating around Pinterest and have been very curious about them. I had no idea there was a kit available. I've been to Canton once, and I'm dying to go back to see what other treasures I can find there. I'm happy to be on the tour with you!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty wreath and your outdoor decorations are lovely too! PS ~ I am also a hoarder. I think my moniker is, "I might need that" ;-)

I love your front porch! The clay pots are so sweet and the happy pumpkin makes it complete. The whole tour is lovely.
ReplyDeleteIt was so fun seeing you yesterday and hearing how your sons are doing, Eilis!!! I KNOW I stopped by and shared a pic or two from the fall tour, but I came back by and I guess I never left you a comment. I am soooo sorry! Your home was lovingly decorated for fall. <3 I like your wreath, too. Just added it to my Mantel and Mirror Magic board for you. <3
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the Christmas season!
Hugs and blessings to you, always,
