Welcome!
I'm so happy to have you visit our home on the
Creating a Cozy Christmas Blog Tour.
Thank you Katie at Let's Add Sprinkles for hosting.
Wasn't the last stop at French Etherial adorable?
Honestly, I use a lot of my Christmas decorations year after year. There is a magic in seeing beloved ornaments come out of their boxes after hiding away for eleven months.
But, there were two that I took down last January, knowing I didn't really want to use them again.
The swags for the front doors had been an impulsive and expensive purchase the year we bought this house. They checked the box for a matching pair, but they weren't really my taste.
Five years later, I decided to make replacements for them.
This way I could create two of exactly what I wanted and keep them affordable.
Each swag was made out of a 48 inch garland from Hobby Lobby and embellished with Christmas picks and wired ribbon.

Love the new Christmas door swags you've created, Eilis! Just beautiful with the two ribbons together ~ like shading with two colored pencils to create depth. Brilliant! Very happy to be with you on the Creating a Cozy Christmas blog tour this year. <3

Eilis I adore this post! The oval window on my door insists on a oval or teardrop wreath and they are very hard to find. Now, thanks to you I will just make my own! Stay cozy my friend. :)
ReplyDeleteAdorable. They are totally you! I love the Red ticking striped ribbon. So pretty. Thanks for joining our Creating Christmas Blog Hop.
ReplyDeleteEilis, these are absolutely gorgeous! I love the shape and they look so beautiful on your doors! It is hard for me to find wreaths I like and when I find one I like, I don't want to pay the exorbitant price for something that I feel will fall apart after the first Texas wind blows through! I like the idea of making my own and customizing it like you have done! Have a great one!
ReplyDeleteEilis, I love your pretty holiday door swags--so festive! Happy to be joining you on the hop and hope you have a blessed Christmas season!
ReplyDeleteYou did a magnificent job on those swags! I should be embarrassed by our two ugly faded swags hanging by the door under the lamp posts. I even said they'd be going in the trash this year. But now you've given me a great idea! Love this post Eilis! Merry Christmas
ReplyDeleteThese are great...so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI am loving this time of year.....
Eilis, Your door looks fabulous. You did a great job!
